GOOLE TOWN CRICKET CLUB SENIOR PRESENTATION NIGHT

David Caldicott2 Nov 2021 - 13:26

Goole Town Cricket Club held their Senior Presentation Night on Saturday 30th October at the Clubhouse.

Goole Town Cricket Club held their Senior Presentation Night on Saturday 30th October at the Clubhouse.
Secretary David Caldicott and President Stewart Gibbins presented the trophies and there was entertainment from duo ‘The Lights’ and a pie and peas supper.
David outlined some of the difficulties of the last 2 years and how covid had affected the Club. No trophies could be presented in 2020 and covid had caused a gap in the cups for the first time since the 2nd world war.
A disappointing year for the 1st team with relegation to division 1 but a good season for the 2nd and 3rd teams with good progress from the juniors. Thomas Franks and Thomas Marritt did particularly well winning 9 trophies between them.
The Club had managed the covid crisis well and was in a good position despite the lockdowns and restricted opening.
David thanked Elza, the Club’s Bar Manager, and her staff, and the officials and committee for their efforts in managing the Club through a difficult 2 years since the 2019 presentation.
