One Sunday an inexperienced Goole side were beaten by Tickhill by 23 runs. Batting 1st again it was Franks who led the way with 18 runs which included three boundaries. Goole totalled 255, which again was a little below par, but they knew that good bowling and fielding could win them the game. Goole’s inexperience unfortunately showed and they didn’t managed to keep Tickhill under control despite taking regular wickets. Franks again capped off a great weekend for the family after his Dad, Simon scored 52 for the 2nd team on Saturday by taking 3 wickets, taking a catch and running out 2 batsmen. Ciaran Smith on debut took a wicket after Leon Murphy caught an edge from the batsman and Thomas Marritt also bowled well also taking a wicket. Depite this, poor fielding and wide bowling gave Tickhill a sizeable total which was too much for Goole to pull back with wickets and they ended up 23 runs ahead on 278.
