Semi Final a stage too Far

Batting first against Sprotborough, Goole were immediately in trouble as Callum Nutton and Owen Murphy were bowled with only one run on the board. Thomas Franks and Marritt steadied the ship for a while but Marritt was run out leaving Goole precariously placed on 15-3 from 5 overs. Callaum Woodcock joined Franks and together they took Goole to relative security by batting for 10 overs without losing a further wicket. Franks was the main focus for runs, however he was well supported by Woodcock who was resolute in defence. Franks was eventually stumped for 22 with 5 overs to spare and Woodcock run out for 6 leaving Leon Murphy and Josh Addison to finish the innings running some tight singles to get Goole to 48 from their 20 overs. The score was below par, however the Sprotborough team being more experienced than Goole the 11s knew that they had done well to survive all their overs. In reply Sprotborough quickly knocked off the runs inside 10 overs leaving Goole on the end of a 10 wicket defeat.
