In a tight match, which could have gone either way the Academy XI fought well against Carlton Towers on Sunday. Batting 1st Goole scored 195 all out in 40 overs with skipper Ollie Ounsley leading the way with 67, Declan Eastwood 48 and Thomas McGrath chipping in with his top score in senior cricket, 20. Carlton's Louis Brown bowled well to take 5 wickets as Goole posted a tricky total for Carlton to chase. Goole battled well with the ball, however an excellent maiden century from Henry Bayston and a fifity from Graham Spence meant that Carlton were always on top of the chase and won the match with 3 overs to spare. 3 wickets from Ounsley and one a piece from Stephen Thornton, Josh Walton, Tom McGrath & Tyler Thomas kept Goole in the hunt, but Carlton's batsmen had enough to see them home with 3 wickets to spare.
