Goole 3's travelled to Drax to play their 3rd XI on Sunday. Debut's from Jack Holmes, Jason Chappell, Phil Wood and Chris Steele ensured that the 3's had 11 to play the match and after Goole were asked to bat things looked good as Goole posted 166 all out. Holmes, 34 from 23 balls, Wood 25 from 20 & Steele 12 from 20 supported Andrew Rodgers who struck 45 from 53 balls to get Goole up towards what could have been a competitive total.

Drax in reply hit 79 for the 1st wicket of Groves and Smith to get them off to a good start, but when Goole took 4 wickets before the score reached 116 the 3's sniffed victory. Ed Hasdell bowled well to take 2 for 19 from 8 overs and James Steele opened up the innings with 1 for 38. Mike Priestley and Lewis Thomas took Drax to 150-5 before Alex Wood took his maiden senior wicket when he had Priestley caught for 13 by Kevin Murphy. Unfortunately for Goole this was the end of the wickets and Thomas and Harrison knocked off the runs with 5 wickets to spare. Thomas finished on 16 not out from 37 balls and Harrison was 9 not out.

It was good that Goole 3's played so well to ensure that the match was competitive and they will look forward to the rest of the season with their new found recruits after the clubs plea for players earlier in the season.
